Naturpark- Nabq
Sharm El Sheikh
The National Park in Nabq is located in the Gulf of Aqaba, extends over 600 km2 and with its many mangroves is a real biotope for the different bird species.
Although it was one of the first dive sites in Sinai and was described in Shomo Cohen’s “Red Sea Divers Guide” in 1975, the underwater world is overwhelmingly intact, because mass tourism has never extended into this area. At first glance, there is only desert and water to see and no paved roads. A trip to Nabq is really something special. Experience the pure nature above and under water.
PROGRAM:
The day starts at 7:45 a.m. from our center or your hotel. After about 1 hour of driving time we reach the National Park and our first diving spot, which we have called “Shrimpfarm”.
In the middle of the desert we set our equipment in a shady shelter and enjoy a relaxed dive with gorgonian forest, coral gardens and seagrass meadows after a simple entry over the beach.
During the surface break, we make our way to the second diving spot “Nakhlet el Thal”. Arrived here, we let the rough beauty of the park work on us with drinks and small snacks.
The sea lies completely inconspicuous in front of us. The barrier reef can be seen at a distance of approx. 250 meters, and you have to walk there with your equipment in shallow water.
After descending you are just overwhelmed. The Nakhlet el Tal reef enchants with a fairytale underwater landscape. The individual coral blocks are embedded in sea grass meadows in a max. depth of 12-14 meters. The lighting conditions are fantastic in the crystal clear water. The untouched underwater world leaves an incomparable feeling.
An experience which you would actually like to repeat immediately.
We end the day with a delicious meal in a restaurant in Nabq and are then back at the hotel / diving center at around 5:00 p.m.
