Two Brothers, Two Journeys – A Shared Passion for Diving
At SUBEX Sharm El Sheikh, some of the most meaningful stories don’t begin with courses or certifications — they begin with curiosity, trust, and family moments in the water.
This year, we had the pleasure of welcoming two brothers with very different starting points, but one shared passion: the underwater world of the Red Sea.
Ivan (10 years old) – Taking His First Real Steps Underwater
Ten-year-old Ivan joined us after having experienced his very first introductory dive in the previous holiday. This time, he was ready for the next step: completing his VDST Junior Diver training.
From learning how to handle the equipment, understanding basic safety, and gaining comfort in the water, to finally experiencing his first structured dives as a certified junior diver — Ivan’s journey was all about discovery, confidence, and pure excitement.
Seeing young divers take their first real steps into the underwater world is always something special. It is not just about skills — it is about building trust in the ocean and in themselves.
Stepan (15 years old) – Continuing His Diving Path
Stefan, his older brother, started his diving journey with us last autumn, when he completed his initial diver certification the VDST/GDL Sports Diver
During this holiday, he continued to build on that foundation by completing further training in Nitrox diving and deep diving. His progression shows how diving can grow step by step, opening new levels of experience and understanding of the underwater world.
From his first certification to more advanced specialties, Stefan’s development reflects curiosity, discipline, and a growing connection to the ocean.
A Shared Experience beneath the Surface
While their levels and experiences are different, both brothers share something important: the joy of discovering the underwater world together.
For families, diving often becomes more than a sport — it becomes a shared language, a connection that grows stronger with every dive.
Watching Ivan take his first real steps underwater while Stefan continues to evolve as a diver is a reminder of what makes diving so unique: it meets you exactly where you are, no matter your age.
